Some Memorable Touristy Things From Český Krumlov at Czech Republic

Hi Everyone,

While we were visiting Český Krumlov at Czech Republic, we took so many pretty photos of the pretty town.

Then there are the road and shop signs all around the city so tourists don’t miss out on anything cool.

We were pretty surprised to see a China tourist centre at Český Krumlov. Are there that many Chinese visiting this old town?

As tourists, we saw something that read pretty funny on a tourist brochure. Have a look at the below. Do you see what I see? I’m not sure if it is was just a lost in translation error or it is really meant what it means, if it is, then it’s pretty funny. Have you seen anything similar on your travels before? Let me know because I find it funny that these get printed and tourists remember these small details on their trips, make each visit very memorable.

Post Christmas Sales …. Bargains Everywhere!

Hi Everyone,

Christmas was 3 weeks ago and I’m sure many of you have received many presents from your loved ones. What I love about after Christmas are the sales on Christmas wrappings and decorations. Normally they cost a fortune especially Christmas decorations so I normally wait for the sales preparing for the following year.

This year, I didn’t really need to buy too much so I wasn’t on the lookout. The other day, I saw some wrapping paper at the supermarket (Star War ones too!) for 20c. Normally they are like $3-$4 a roll. Anyways I picked a few up including some Disney Frozen wrapping paper but when I saw the checkout line, I decided it wasn’t worth it even it was super cheap.

So yesterday when I was at Target getting some stuff for next weeks party, I saw some extra cheap Christmas items on clearance. I bought 3 packs of the wrapping papers for 10c each! Yes, 10c for the 3 rolls!!! Normally it’s like $5 for the 3. Then I also got 4 extra tree decorations which were 20c each. Can’t complain right?

Have you found any cool bargains after Christmas? Let me know because we all love bargains!

Special Apple Cake from Passion Tree Velvet

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday my other half bought me a cake to celebrate my accomplishment of surviving the first week of work after many years off from maternity leave. This cake store has high tea as well so he went and picked out this cool apple cake for me.

It looked so real that I didn’t even want to eat it. Once I put the fork in, I can hear a nice crack sound from the white chocolate underneath the green coating. Then as I cut it in half, the apple inside is just like the apple pie you bake from home. It was pretty nice with the apple balancing out the chocolate or else it will be too heavy.

Although it was all pretty and delicious, it wasn’t cheap and was told the cake cost $9 takeaway – not sure the price if you decide to sit down and enjoy it at the cafe area.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Visit Český Krumlov Castle at Czech Republic with Travelgirl

Hi Everyone,

Today I’ll be taking you to the beautiful Český Krumlov Castle at Czech Republic. We only stayed one night in Český Krumlov so we made sure to visit the castle the day we arrived as we need to leave the town the following morning. After left our bags at our accommodation, we made our way to the castle. The castle was full of people in the late afternoon and was pretty steep when walking up.

The castle was very big so there was plenty of room for everyone. Just like many castles, everything looked like how it used to with a bit of modern touch to it. The buildings around the castle had the old greyish look which I believe would have been the original walls of the castle back in the old times.

As we were walking up, we got to the bridge where you see one of the nicest views of Český Krumlov. It was just so beautiful. Even though when we visit it was late autumn, there was still some autumn leaves to be seen. Imagine the day was a bit sunnier, the photos would have come out differently. Have you seen this view on postcards or travel magazines/blogs? The last time I came to Czech Republic, I missed out on this view so this time I made sure I have to visit the castle.

If you were to visit Český Krumlov, do visit the castle as it was worth seeing the view and understand a bit of the town’s history.

Explore The Surroundings of Český Krumlov Castle @ Czech Republic with Travelgirl

Hi Everyone,

Just before we went to visit Český Krumlov Castle, we decided to walk around the castle to take some photos and see what it looks like from afar. To our surprise, there wasn’t a lot of people around the back of the castle so we had lots of opportunities to take some photos. I highly recommend you to walk around the other side of the castle to get some great photos of the surroundings in particular in summer.

From afar, you can see that the Castle is located on top of a hill. As we got closer, we can see the bridge area where lots of tourists are already there enjoying the view from the top

Český Krumlov in The Morning @ Czech Republic with Travelgirl

Hi Everyone,

Today I’ll show you more of Český Krumlov by day. We find particularly in the morning, there were fewer people around which may be got to do with many tourists come as a one day trip from Prague rather than stay overnight like we did. The streets would be really quiet until around lunch time so taking photos around this period would be the most ideal.

Many shops don’t open later in the day and only cafes are open for business. It is definitely lovely to stroll around town without to worry about waiting for people to move on before you take some photos around town.

Travelgirl Returning to Work …

Hi Everyone,

As many of you know, I’ve been in maternity leave for a long time and today is the day to go back to work! Everyone was excited except me. I was more worried about the new routine and how I’m going to cope with full-time work as well as the family.

I woke up a lot earlier than usual at 7am and got to the bus stop at 8am. I already packed my bag and got my work clothes ready the night before so I didn’t have to stress over that in the morning. Before I left the house, my other half reminded me that the bus stop has moved so it will be a longer walk to work for me. Oh well, life goes on.

I got to the city at 8.20am and got to the office foyer by 8.30am. Unfortunately, my manager was running late so I sat in the foyer and during that time, an old colleague and friend saw me and called out to me! Gosh after so many years, someone still recognized me so I guess I haven’t aged much lol!

The office has totally changed from the normal traditional desk setup to a hot desk situation. Unfortunately, my computer and mobile are not ready therefore I just took my time getting used to the new office and met some old colleagues for a catch-up.

During lunch, I did wanted to get a pair of shoes but no luck but got some hand wash instead from Bath & Body Works at 70% off! What a great bargain! It’s great to be kids free for a day and get to but of ‘me’ time. For lunch a bought a bowl of soup noodles – not great at all. Hope tomorrow will be another smooth day and my work gear will be ready for me.
