Gold Shopping with Travelgirl @ Hamad International Airport, Qatar

Hi Everyone,

I have heard about lots of gold shopping in airports at Doha and Dubai but never seen the ranges before so I was looking forward to checking these places out. Apart from gold shopping, there are also lots of European luxury brands around Hamad International Airport to cater visitors and their local people for any last minute splurges.

First, we were dropped off by our Uber driver right at the departure terminal. Uber in Doha was super convenient we virtually used them the moment we landed so keep that in mind when you visit this beautiful city. After a small incident (Baby M had a massive nose bleed and we were taking to the airport hospital for clearance), you will see many shops around the main area. This is when we saw lots of goldddddd.

There were lots of choices, designs and price range. They had many staff on deck but I still had to wait for some time before I can get any assistance to look at any piece. The photos I’ve taken were only a small amount of stock available and there were lots more to suit any budget. I looked at a pair of earrings and it worked out just $150AUD but it was very light and thin. I find many of their signs are like that, maybe to suit the market? I didn’t end up getting anything but just after we had a quick meal, we did see Hermes where they had a nice range available – even more than what was offered at the stores in Europe.

Just right near our gate, there were some really nice kids indoor play area. It was a great addition for parents who need to get rid of their little one’s energy before a long plane ride.

Let’s Have Dinner at Mach 2 @ Sydney Airport, Australia with Travelgirl

Hi Everyone,

Depending on the time of our flight, we normally have a meal at the airport regardless what airline we will be flying because we want everyone to be fed well and don’t go on to the plane hungry. This time, we decided to have dinner at Mach 2 which is located on the departure section before the custom security area. The reason why we chose this place is because we are Priority Pass members and we get to have a free meal of up to $36 including drinks. As we have two people, we can have up to $72 and anything else extra we will just pay as per usual.

Let’s check out the menu first

We ordered a kids meatball spaghetti, Spaghetti Machiavelli 31 & a Sirloin 40. We were also been given some bread and butter to start and we munched it all up.

The servings of the meals were average in particular my Spaghetti Machiavelli 31 but the sirloin steak was pretty good. The kids meal was average but our kids ate it very quickly – I think the sauce was the winner! Having this meal included with our membership was very nice because as many of you would know, eating at the airport is never cheap especially somewhere you can sit down with table service. There were plenty of seating and room for hand luggages so you don’t need to worry. There is also a cafe style takeaway right at the front so if you want something light or coffee to go, you can also order from here.

Arriving in Prague & Picking Up The Car with Travelgirl

Hi Everyone,

After nearly a day in Doha for our stopover and our airport hospital visit, we finally landed in Prague. It was an early flight so we by the time we went past immigration, it was already 8am. This was our first time at Prague airport and everything was smooth and simple. It wasn’t as big as some of the airports we have been to but enough to make a visitor feel comfortable. Once we got ourselves ready, we walked across the road to pick up our rental car. Keep in mind we were still in half summer clothes as Doha was 35 degrees and arriving at Prague was at around 10 degrees that morning.

Picking up our car took a while but we found our car very quickly. Plenty of boot space for our luggage and we are off to our Airbnb. Let our holiday begin! This is our second time in Prague so we won’t be going to the touristy places. Let’s see where we end up going later.
