Lune Finally Comes to Sydney + Travelgirl’s Lune Experience in Melbourne

Hi Everyone,

OMG!! Lune is coming to Sydney and the location is TBA. Lune is a famous bakery in Melbourne selling some of the best croissants in town. The line can go on forever so having a store in Sydney would help those who can’t fly to Melbourne all the time. These yummy croissants even stay fresh after being on a plane for a few hours, they are just the bomb! So I’ll today, I thought I’ll share my experience in Melbourne a month ago when we tried to buy croissants over the new year.

Our friends who lived in Melbourne told us to try the almond croissants & the normal ones. They have a nice crunchy outer layer and the inside is soft and smooth. So we decided to wake up and get there before 8am to beat the crowd. The store is actually around 20mins walk from our Airbnb so we decided to just walk there. There was no line when we arrived, then we saw a sign with a few people also looking disappointed. They only sell takeaway at Fitzroy (their factory) so we quickly took the Uber. Once we arrived, we knew it will be a bit of a wait.

Look at that line! One thing for sure, we are in the right place. Can you see that tall guy in the line, that is Daddy M waiting ‘patiently’ in line waiting for his breakfast and coffee. After nearly 45 minutes in the line (remember this is all takeaway customers), we are finally there. Yes, that is the hole you make your order, pay and get your food. The worst part is due to the holiday season, the only sell the original croissant and the lemon cruffins. Without any choices, we bought both to take home and share it with everyone.

I love the fact the box has wholes around it so it ensures the moist doesn’t make the croissants soft and soggy. A plain croissant was $6 and lemon cruffins were 7.50 each. Not cheap for bakery food but they are worth the price especially the croissant. It smells nice, crunch with a nice texture and a soft center. I didn’t like the lemon cruffins that much as it was overly sweet for my liking but Daddy E thought it great. He had like 2 of them throughout the day.  Honestly, I can’t wait for the Sydney store to open so I can get my hands on more plain croissants and try the almond one which we missed in Melbourne.

Great Coffee Cart at Parndorf Designer Outlet @ Austria

Hi Everyone,

While we were in Austria, it was already cold and being at the outlet walking and buying things non stop (yes non stop LOL), you do get tired and thirsty. We didn’t want anything cold like a soft drink or water from the vending machines so we tried to look for a something warm. The other criteria I had was I didn’t want to really sit down because we don’t have a lot of time left as it was getting dark so something quick and easy would be preferred.

Then we found this cute coffee car. The coffee smell so nice and they also sell hot chocolate. Without thinking, we got a coffee and a hot chocolate (extra hot!). Gosh it was the best drink we had all day! It gave us energy and we were off shopping again after our drink. If you are at the outlet, do look out for this coffee car cos it was a life saver for us!

Let’s Have Dinner at Mach 2 @ Sydney Airport, Australia with Travelgirl

Hi Everyone,

Depending on the time of our flight, we normally have a meal at the airport regardless what airline we will be flying because we want everyone to be fed well and don’t go on to the plane hungry. This time, we decided to have dinner at Mach 2 which is located on the departure section before the custom security area. The reason why we chose this place is because we are Priority Pass members and we get to have a free meal of up to $36 including drinks. As we have two people, we can have up to $72 and anything else extra we will just pay as per usual.

Let’s check out the menu first

We ordered a kids meatball spaghetti, Spaghetti Machiavelli 31 & a Sirloin 40. We were also been given some bread and butter to start and we munched it all up.

The servings of the meals were average in particular my Spaghetti Machiavelli 31 but the sirloin steak was pretty good. The kids meal was average but our kids ate it very quickly – I think the sauce was the winner! Having this meal included with our membership was very nice because as many of you would know, eating at the airport is never cheap especially somewhere you can sit down with table service. There were plenty of seating and room for hand luggages so you don’t need to worry. There is also a cafe style takeaway right at the front so if you want something light or coffee to go, you can also order from here.

Breakfast at Kolektiv Cafe in Český Krumlov , Czech Republic

Hi Everyone,

While strolling around town, we found this cute cafe offering a nice menu for breakfast. They were very tourist friendly and offer a range of different food for all sorts of appetite.

kolektiv

Let’s have a look at the menu first. They offer the menu in English and in Czech so we were well looked after when it came to ordering our meals.

Let’s look at what we have ordered. We ordered a Kolektiv, sun-dried tomato and olive spread & pancakes & cereal for the kids to share. For drinks, we ordered a green tea and coffee.

The meal came in a timely and present beautifully. The olive paste from my meal was exceptional and is highly recommended if you come to this cafe. The kid’s pancakes were not popular amongst the kids but I ate it all. The eggs dish was acceptable and the dip was also very nice. We have noticed all their dips and pastes tastes really delicious and recommend to at least order a dish with them. There are also all sorts of pastries and cakes from the display which you can also order

The prices here are definitely cheaper than what we pay in Sydney and the food quality was brilliant. Normally we would expect to pay at least x2 more in Sydney. The cafe was nicely spaced out with plenty of seating and it was nice and cosy for a cold autumn morning.
